The program ensures that land used for agricultural production is valued and taxed based on capitalizing the land's expected net farm income rather than on its current market value, thereby protecting farmers from inflated land prices brought on by land developers.
The Homestead Exemption allows senior citizens and disabled homeowners to reduce their property tax bills by exempting $29,000 of the market value of their homes from local property tax.
Homestead applications for real estate and manufactured homes are accepted until December 31st for the year you are applying for.

It is the desire of this county to provide a service for the public to ensure proper and accurate descriptions of property, to correct any errors that are evident, and to ensure that property is accurately described for tax purposes. It is recognized that not all situations can be covered by these requirements; when such situations arise, they will be handled as special cases by a group composed of the Fulton County Engineer, Auditor, and Planning Director.
These procedures are in accordance with Sections 315.251, 319.203, and 5313.02 of the Ohio Revised Code.

The owner occupied tax reduction is only available for residential properties. Rental properties are not eligible for the reduction. The State of Ohio reimburses schools and other agencies for this rollback. Most homeowners currently receive the credit, as indicated on their tax bills.
However, this credit is not given automatically. You must sign up to receive it. If you feel you are eligible for this credit and are not receiving it, you may call (419) 337-9200 for additional information.
The appraised value set by the Auditor's Office is an important part of the property tax calculation. If you feel the appraised value is too high, you may file a complaint with the Fulton County Board of Revision. Filing a Board of Revision (BOR) complaint entitles you to a hearing before the three-member Board of Revision. At the hearing, you may present information such as recent appraisals or current sales data for similar properties in your neighborhood to support your complaint. BOR complaints must be filed between January 1 and March 31. You may call to request a complaint form or print one from this site.
The tax lien date is used to reflect real estate market value each year. In Ohio, the annual tax lien date is January 1, and property taxes are always paid a year in arrears. For example, taxes paid in 2025 are for tax year 2024 and were calculated based on the property's value as of January 1, 2025.

The tax is three percent (3%) on all rents paid or to be paid by the transient guest for the lodging. A transient guest means a person occupying a room or rooms for sleeping accommodations for less than thirty (30) consecutive days.
Registration: Within thirty (30) days after commencing business, each operator of any establishment renting lodging to transient guests shall register said establishment with the Fulton County Auditor and obtain from the Auditor a "Transient Occupancy Registration Certificate" to be posted on the premises. Registration requirements include, but are not limited to, hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, cottages, cabins, condominiums, and vacation homes. Tax: For the purpose of providing revenue with which to meet the needs of Fulton County in making contributions to the visitors' bureau operating within the county, an excise tax is hereby levied on transactions by which lodging is or is to be furnished to transient guests.
